Box Cricket Tournament – Simple Rules and Guidelines
1. Team Setup
- Each team can have 6 to 8players.
- Only 6 players play on the field at one time.
- Substitutes are allowed only with the umpire’s permission.
2. Match Format
- Each match has 7 overs per team.
- Every bowler can bowl only 1 over.
- If a match ends in a tie, a Super Over will decide the winner.
3. Batting Rules
- No LBW rule in box cricket.
- Runs from walls depend on ground markings.
- One bounce, one hand catches are valid inside the box.
- If the ball hits the ceiling or side wall, it counts as 1 run and stays in play.
- If the ball hits the back wall directly, the batsman is out, unless the ground says otherwise.
4. Bowling Rules
- Bowling can be underarm or overarm (based on tournament rules).
- A no-ball happens if the bowler crosses the line or bowls above the waist without a bounce.
- A free hit is given after every no-ball.
- The bowler must bowl within 30 seconds of the last delivery.
5. Fielding Rules
- All fielders must stay inside the boundary walls.
- Stepping on or outside the wall gives the batting team 1 extra run.
- Fast reactions and teamwork are important in the small playing area.
6. Scoring
- Depending on wall markings, boundaries give 2, 4, or 6 runs.
- Runs between wickets and overthrows count.
- Bonus points may be given for best catch, most sixes, or fastest fifty.
7. Fair Play
- Show respect and play in good spirit — rude or bad behavior means disqualification.
- Umpire decisions are final.
- No alcohol or smoking inside the play area.
- Players must report 15 minutes before their match time.
